Maryam Rahimi Blogs!
During my stay in Texas, I hoped to meet cowboys but to my disappoitment, there were none striding down the country roads, coming out of bars, just like what I had seen in classic western movies. Damn Clint Eastwood! You broke my heart!
Continuing from the previous list, once I left Arlington, I hit:
8. Houston, Texas (Nasa Space Center)
9. Austin, Texas (Downtown)
10. San Antonio, Texas (Riverwalk, Bass Pro Shop)
11. El Paso, Texas (Fort Bliss Military Base)
My favourite stops were definitely Nasa in Houston and USA Military Base in El Paso. San Antonio's riverwalk was also nice, the restaurants on the water were romantic. In El Paso, I went to Cattleman Steakhouse for dinner where I had the most amazing ribs and steak. It was everything they say about ribs/steak here in Texas. Five stars indeed.
Enjoy the pics!
Houston, We Have A Problem!
I have always felt an attraction for things that are unusually large in size, that exert strength and exist for a purpose beyond just living. Needles to say, space and everything that comes with it fascinates me.
My day at Nasa was a humbling experience. To see those men and women at work, making sure our planet stays ahead of what might be coming our way, makes me feel warm and tingly inside. An inspiring visit, it motivates me to make a difference in this world.
Keep in mind, the following images of Nasa's base are the real deal. This is where todays astronauts live, breath and train for space.
Drove through Austin, it's main attraction is 6th street, loaded with restaurants and bars. Spent about half a day there.
San Antonio, Texas
In terms of cuteness, my favourite town in Texas was San Antonio. It makes a great romantic day/evening trip for couples.
El Paso, Texas
It was hot hot hot! Ok... moving on. I love the desert (only when I'm visiting lol), I specially enjoyed taking photographs.
Fort Bliss: USA Military Base
Visiting the USA military base, catching a glimpse of the army trucks, tanks and altirary was exhilarating. I think I might have been in the army or navy in my past life, I feel so alive around powerful athletic machines.
