53 days long, yup! That's how long it took to drive across America and Canada, from Montreal to Montreal. This post wraps up the entire road trip on North America from summer of 2015 (yup, I am a year behind on content for this blog).

Much like a scrap book, I've put a little bit of everything in this post, highlights of my adventure, yummy foods and landscapes that took my breath away. I've also complied a few videos of the many random clips I shot on my camera and iPhone... no fancy production, just trying to create a sense for my adventure. This road trip was about connecting with nature and earth rather then doing some wild thing so...here it goes...

Boston, USA

August 17, 2015 - first stop of the 53day road trip includes walking tour of downtown Boston, a Beyonce concert, lots of delicious food and a 10 pound Lobster :)

My girls and I, one of the very few times where I travel with friends. Most the road trip I am on my own, so definitely enjoying this moment here with the girls...

Hello road, I am excited for all the uncertainty that is heading our way...
maryam rahimi blog travel
Red brick buildings, very New York like, we also have some of this style in Montreal...

Much of the architecture in Boston is similar to Montreal, my home town. In fact, a handful of major cities on the east coast have a similar 'vibe' ... old intricate architecture vs glossy sky scrappers, tight streets and large high ways... the pace of the city, the culture and peoples priorities tend to be a little different from city to city.... Knowing that, I decided to head south, seeking a different environment...

Love this stain glass...

Downtown Boston Public Library

maryam rahimi blog travel
Although not a museum, the 1852 Renaissance Revival Boston Public Library is crammed with spectacular paintings, tapestries, architectural details, and sculpture - plus a fabulous 3rd floor gallery filled with John Singer Sargent murals.

Boston Harbour - Hello Lobster!

My friend and Barking Crab: Lively waterfront seafood joint with open-air picnic-table dining & views of the Boston Harbor.
maryam rahimi blog travel
Love this place! Opened in May of 1994 as an outdoor summer restaurant, this place is known as seafood in the rough!
maryam rahimi blog travel
Boston's best-loved meeting and eating spots :)
maryam rahimi blog travel
The Barking Crab offers the casual atmosphere of a coastal clam shack in a funky urban setting, with a marina alongside for easy access by water

Fresh Local Oysters!

Fried Rhode Island Calamari with banana peppers, garlic and butter

So I was starving and without thinking how big a 10lbs lobster actually is, I went with it.
maryam rahimi blog travel
We looked online to see how old this lobster would be approximately and found out that it's at least 84 years old... I was traumatized to realize I ordered its death sentence.
maryam rahimi blog travel
Cracking this baby was rough, no wonder this place is known as seafood in the rough!
