Meet Maryam Rahimi

Picture
Born in Kuwait, Maryam Rahimi moved to Montreal with her family at the age of fourteen. By 2008, she successfully obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a major in Film Production at Concordia University.

While working and studying, Maryam showcased her entrepreneurship by co-founding Sunrise Multimedia in 2007. The Montreal based, multidisciplinary company responded to an international clientele in need of design, photography, and film services. Maryam applied her leadership and expertise as a creative producer towards the success of small and medium size projects. Some of her past projects include producing “Landed”, a music video for a talented local artist, directing TV commercials for an international clothing brand, and overseeing the production of a high-end fashion catalog.

Rahimi moved to Toronto in early 2010 in order to tackle new aspirations in the Canadian television industry. Her goal oriented approach allowed her to launch the development of Lake Shore, a reality show concept targeting audiences from 14 to 35 years of age. The development of LS landed a deal to co-produce the show with Entertainment One (eOne), while volunteering as a floor director for Rogers TV’s  Daytime Toronto, and building her place in the television community of the city. Rahimi’s used her skills and experience to engage a young and diverse audience in a new way by leveraging a strong promotional strategy including social media marketing and interacting directly with her fans, bringing 2.7 million hits online for her latest project during its course of development and introducing her to executives with major networks in Canada, building her place among top producers.

Today, Rahimi splits her time working on different projects between Toronto and Montreal while travelling overseas and exploring new business ventures.
