Beginning November 8, Lake Shore’s sizzle reel was picked up by countless blogs, websites, newspapers, and television programs across North America. The show, which is still in development, has received more attention than ever predicted.  We would like to address some of the comments that have arisen since the announcement.

The lure of reality TV lies in the tension and relationships between the characters. Lake Shore explores what happens when you put eight young people from different backgrounds together in a house.  The show will expose the characters’ differences and also highlight the similarities that people from all walks of life share.  A promo  reel is not a true representation of the whole story and should not be interpreted that way.

We come from a generation that shares its most intimate moments on Facebook and Twitter through 140 characters or less. We are public about almost everything.  But in all of these outlets, there are only snippets of information about people, never a complete picture of who they are as a whole. The sizzle reel is an extension of this idea.

Lake Shore will expose stereotypes in order to break them down, bridge relationships and show young Torontonians enjoying life and all the adventures that come their way.

We've had hundreds of thousands hits on our site at the same time, and due to the high volume of traffic, lake-shore.ca does not work for now. It will be back up very soon.

Lake Shore Cast
It’s been a grueling and exciting few months for all of us here at Lake Shore and I’m ecstatic to announce our housemates. Congratulations to Joey, Arber, Sibel, Tommy, Anni Mei, Robyn, Salem & Karolina!  You will entertain the Canadian viewers!

A big thank you goes to the top 25! It was a difficult decision to pick the Lake Shore cast from all the interesting characters we have met. I wish you all the best luck in your future endeavors. You’re young, hip and you got a whole city rooting for you. Reach for the stars!

Lake Shore has grown from hundreds to thousands of followers in a couple months. Last night, the extremely high traffic filled up our host’s servers resulting in limited access to our web site. We are dealing with a well-known hosting provider who has rarely seen a website bring their servers down on the means of “popularity”! I am flattered at the amount of interest in our production. I promise not to disappoint.

The website is back on the fast track. Enjoy surfing.

Hello all,

I’ve been asked many questions in regards with the show and the upcoming auditions. Here are answers to some frequently asked questions.

Q. When are the auditions and what time are they?
A. The auditions are being held on July 16th & 17 at Frequency Night Club (296 Richmond Street West, Downtown, Toronto) from 2 to 9 pm. You do not have to be there on both days. Come on either date, anytime between 2 to 9 pm. The earlier, the better… it will be crowded!

Q. Do I have to sign up for the auditions?
A.You simply RSVP on our Facebook event page. That’s all.
http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=129004350455731&ref=mf

Q. Will we get paid if we make the cast?
A. YES, of course! It’s a job at the end of the day. A fun job ;)

Q. When will you shoot the series?

A. Once we have confirmed our ideal cast for the debut season. I assume sometime late 2010 or winter/spring of 2011.

Q. Are we auditioning in front of the crowd or only for the judges?
A. You will be one-on-one with our celebrity judges.

Q. Who are the judges?
A. Canadian celebs!

Q. How many people will be selected in the cast?

A. Eight cast members from different backgrounds and sexual orientations.

Q. Can actors apply? What about unions?

A. Anyone can apply. Union, or non union, everyone is welcome.

Q. What’s the show about?

A. Eight cast members from different backgrounds and sexual orientations move into a house together, and learn how to not step on each other's toes, or to step on it! It’s not a competition; it’s all about their differences!

Drama, drama, and more drama is what the cast will be facing! It’s your crazy girlfriend vs. boyfriend vs. your ex who is now dating your friend who has a crush on your boyfriend. This show is a drama with fist pump, and attitude spilling all over your couch!

The cast will be going to “unique” underground parties where surprises will be awaiting them. The viewers…BEWARE! The show might not be so G-rated! ‘WINK, WINK’

Q. What will the auditions be like?

A. The auditions will occur in a lounge-like atmosphere. There will be a cash bar, and lots of opportunities for mingling, while our host, Susie Iliyan, will be going around, meeting, and talking to people. She's our better looking version of Ryan Seacrest, from American Idol, who follows up with the contestants of the auditions to ask them questions.

Then, the judges will have one-on-one meetings with you. It'll be your chance to tell us why you think you’re the STAR for this show. Feel free to bring along anything that will best describe your personality, or shows us your skills and/or talent! We love to see what you’ve got! It is all about you, you and more you!!!

After the auditions, our crew will stay behind to party with you at Frequency Night Club from 10 pm to midnight where we’ll have the camera’s rolling to catch any last minute misbehaviour ;) Watch out fans!

Lake Shore in the News!
Etalk, Z103, 680 News and WhatsGoodToronto.com, along with other media will be there to cover this big event. Make sure you come in, audition, get your drink on, and your mingling skills going! This is your chance to show Toronto who you are and what you’re all about!

Z103 will be giving out prizes, and you will have a chance to win a Toyota Rav4!
